Location: Hartlepool, North East (remote working available)

£55K+ (Salary negotiable depending on experience)

The role

We have an amazing opportunity for an experienced and dynamic Head of Digital and Ecommerce to join our Head Office team. It is an exciting time for us at Henderson Design Group as we expand and develop our online portfolio of brands. The Head of Digital and ECommerce will be strategic and innovative, leading the team to fulfil our big ambitions in this area.

Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the Head of Digital and Ecommerce will work closely with the Head of Brands to ensure cross channel alignment in customer experience, strategy, and branding.

The role of Head of Digital and Ecommerce will be to drive trade performance of our multiple brand websites by improving the trading of online marketing campaigns and promotions, product presentation, navigation and product discoverability. You will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the Henderson Design Group websites, trading them effectively, optimising user journeys, and aligning efforts with the wider marketing team.

The Head of Digital and Ecommerce will have strong commercial acumen.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Leading and growing the ecommerce team.
  • Assume responsibility for the ecommerce division’s performance and operations
  • Determining ecommerce project requirements, driving them to completion. The role will require the Ecommerce Manager to lead on the replatforming of our key brands website.
  • Selecting partners and vendors, leading on the ecommerce software process, managing internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensuring customer journeys on the sites are smooth, executing testing, configuration and integration.
  • Creating frameworks that transform our social media sites into highly profitable platforms.
  • Reviewing copy and legal disclaimers to verify their accuracy.
  • Analysing traffic to inform website maintenance and the effectiveness of marketing strategies.
  • Lead digital merchandising across the ecommerce team, as well as cross functionally. Including managing delivery and communication-with a focus on content that enables conversion.
  • Critical analytical thinking to drive conversion and AOV (Average Order Value), while managing bounce rate through functionality development tools such as CRO, SEO and UX.

Knowledge, skills and experience

  • +5 years experience working in a managerial digital marketing / e-commerce  role within a direct to consumer e-commerce company 
  • Ideally a degree in marketing or relevant qualification
  • Experience with managing an ecommerce team.
  • Extensive experience of managing end-to-end ecommerce projects and design
  • Knowledge of Klaviyo, or another eCRM platform (including managing set-up and order processing triggers).
  • Expert knowledge of SEO to optimise organic traffic.
  • Consumer focussed 
  • Passion for brand led ecommerce.
  • Extensive experience with ecommerce platforms such as Shopify and Magento, with great knowledge of Google Analytics 
  • Strong stakeholder management with the ability to manage cross-functional teams
  • Excellent numerical and analytical skills with a commercial drive
  • Strong communication skills
  • Excellent organisational and project management skills essential • 
  • Knowledge of digital marketing channels and paid media
  • Flexible and responsive to change

  • Strong attention to detail
  • Work well under pressure to meet tight deadlines and support the business objectives to drive profitability
