Warehouse Supervisor
Position: Warehouse Supervisor (3-Month Contract with Opportunity for Extension)
Working Hours:
- Standard hours: 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m – 5 days per week
- One day per week may fall on a weekend
- Note: Hours have been consistent over the past three years, although minor changes may occur as the business evolves
Role Overview:
As a Warehouse Supervisor, you will play a pivotal role in the day-to-day management and safe, efficient operation of our warehouse facilities. You will work closely with an existing warehouse supervisor, the Warehouse Operations Manager, and the Production Manager to ensure that all processes run smoothly. Your hands-on leadership on the shop floor, combined with the opportunity to contribute ideas at weekly operations meetings, will be crucial to our ongoing success.
This is a temporary 3-month contract role with the potential to become permanent as the business grows.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership & Supervision:
- Oversee and support all warehouse operatives during your shift
- Conduct daily briefings, manage staff rotas, and coordinate holiday and absence planning
- Serve as the senior point of contact on site when required, ensuring operational decisions are made promptly and effectively
- Provide guidance and mentorship, resolving disputes and maintaining a positive, collaborative team environment
Operational Management:
- Ensure the safe, efficient, and accurate handling of all stock across our two warehouse sites (approximately 25,000 and 15,000 square feet)
- Collaborate closely with the production team to direct workloads and maintain high standards of quality control, particularly for our three distinct home décor brands with varying packaging requirements
- Oversee the management of packaging, consumables, and stock control processes
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for order accuracy, productivity, and safety, ensuring targets are met consistently
Health, Safety & Quality Compliance:
- Enforce and actively participate in our health and safety management system, including regular inspections, incident reporting, and adherence to PPE requirements
- Execute scheduled safety inspections and ensure compliance with all protocols
- Assist in emergency response activities and maintain clear, accurate documentation of all safety-related incidents
Process Improvement & Cross-Departmental Collaboration:
- Identify opportunities for continuous process improvement and actively contribute ideas during weekly meetings with the operations team
- Work collaboratively with IT support, production, and head office teams (including marketing and e-commerce) to ensure smooth operations and adapt to new initiatives, such as seasonal promotions or packaging updates
- Utilize Microsoft Dynamics Business Central (and provided training on this ERP) along with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and Android-based WMS devices to manage daily operations efficiently
Physical & Technical Duties:
- Engage in physically demanding tasks including moving stock, packing orders, and operating equipment
- Safely operate counterbalance forklifts (training and certification available on site for those without existing qualifications)
Qualifications & Experience:
Experience:
- Previous experience in warehouse supervision or a similar role
- Proven track record in managing day-to-day warehouse operations and team leadership
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and a general comfort with using Windows-based systems
- Ability to learn and operate Microsoft Dynamics Business Central and Android-based warehouse management devices
- Familiarity with or willingness to be trained on counterbalance forklift operations
Personal Attributes:
- A proactive, hands-on leadership style with the ability to make independent decisions when needed
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with staff and external stakeholders
- A positive attitude towards health and safety, process improvement, and team collaboration
- Physically fit and able to manage the demands of a busy warehouse environment

About the Team:
You will work alongside a dedicated warehouse supervisor, supported by IT and production teams. Reporting directly to the Warehouse Operations Manager and collaborating with the Production Manager, you will be part of a tight-knit group that values innovation, open communication, and hands-on problem solving.
